Neues von den Sky Pirates?!

Im Netz bin ich zufällig über ein Modell der Sky Pirates gestolpert. In wie weit dieses bereits überholt wurde lässt sich schwer sagen. Aber seht selber:

Gut zu erkennen sind die verschiedenen Schiffe der Völker die “integriert” wurden.

Außerdem hat Spartan Dave einige Details der Sky Pirates verraten.

Speaking of Sky Pirates…  I thought you guys might like a small preview…

It’s a wind fleet of course, fairly fast, and decent at boarding (they are pirates after all!)  Playing with or against them will really tighten up your Defensive Fire skills.  Having a lot of flying models is useful in some ways, they can go over terrain and other models, but it also means they can’t use their ships to block and they often risk taking DF damage before they can make their own attacks.  It’s sort of like losing initiative even when you thought you won

On the flip side, it’s harder to defend against boarding assaults from a flying model as you can neither block their path nor will they risk breaking up in a collision.  However, they have a new risk to keep this in check – Boarding Hooks.  The Sky Pirate flying models have to pass a roll to latch onto a target ship and board successfully so there is still a risk on their part – that of essentially losing their turn (not being able to fire) due to a failed boarding attempt.

Press Gang:  After winning a boarding action, convert some of the enemy crew into new pirate crew

Of course they are still in development so details may change before the final release.

A Bottle of Rum:  Grants Tough Crew for a round
Buried Treasure:  Mostly a VP/tournament card, a ship can bury its prize tokens so they can never be lost
Chainshot:  A mast-breaker attack
